Which subwoofer to go with?

I am looking at adding a subwoofer enclosure to the trunk of my 88 Mustang convertible. I am limited on space so I have 2 options: 1 12" vented sub enclosure or 2 10" seled sub enclosure. For now I have 8" bazooka tube which sounds pretty good just looks like crap in the trunk. I have a Kicker ZX 500.1 mono amp and the subs I was looking at are the Kicker CVT or Comp VR. I am not sure which is better? I am not sure which would give me better bass the sealed or the vented? Any other recommendations would be great.

I built mine myself, with a little help from You Tube, home depot, & tons of silicone. I couldn’t find anyone who made an enclosure the correct size for my trunk. It’s a working trunk so I needed the room for piles of crap. You just need to make it air tight. Remember that sound is not that important in a convertible, it leaks out everywhere. It’s how good you look when the top is top down. So if your crafty and you want to give it a shot we can talk next time we meet or call me.

i dont know **** about car stereos...but arent speakers suppose to be vented...
thats what those port holes are for.
i think when it comes to bass..you also have to decide on rear or front facing.
i dont really agree with tom when he said it doesnt matter what it sounds like, only what it looks like.
nothing is worse then bad, shitty bass that sounds metallic and distorted.
bass is key to the whole system ie home theatre.
good bass thumps, pounds and its tight.
just my opinion.

I didn’t say what the speaker enclosure should look like. I said that he should look good in his car when the top is down. You’re so controversial. You need to chill. Yes there are two types of enclosures, sealed and open. A sealed enclosure needs to be air-tight to work properly. The other is obvious, like the Bazooka Tube .

Well I spoke with this guy at Kicker and he recommended 2 Kicker 12" Comp subs in a sealed box. THe box is going to take up the whole trunk but I think it will look nice and clean. Should have it by next week. I will post pics up when I have it installed.
